Start with an empty working copy

  1. Keep the downloaded ZIP as your clean starting point. Open a separate working copy in FileMaker Pro.
  2. Set your business details and separate sidebar and print logos in Settings.
  3. Add an active space and customer, then create a booking draft for one local day using 24-hour times.
  4. Confirm the booking to check availability. Review the selected-date agenda and create a confirmation snapshot in Documents.
  5. Use Help to create fictional examples in a separate practice copy. Close the database before making filesystem backups.

Practice a complete booking

  1. In a separate practice file, use Help to create fictional examples. In your working file, add your real spaces and customers instead.
  2. Create a same-day draft, with an active space and customer and an end time later than the start.
  3. Confirm it. Try an overlapping reservation for the same space and day; it should be refused. An adjacent interval is allowed.
  4. To change a confirmed booking, return it to Draft, edit the interval and confirm again. Drafts do not reserve capacity.
  5. Cancel with a reason if the booking is no longer needed. Complete only after the scheduled end; Completed is final and still blocks that interval.
  6. Review the all-space agenda for the selected date. In Documents, create a booking confirmation or daily-schedule PDF snapshot, then export and inspect it.

Keep the saved document separate from current data

A saved snapshot records its generation-time content. Later booking or branding edits do not rewrite that saved document. Create a new document when you need a current version and use its date and identity to distinguish it.

If a booking cannot be confirmed

  • Check that both the space and customer are active.
  • Use one local date, 24-hour start/end times and an end later than the start.
  • Review Confirmed and Completed intervals for the same space, day and collection.
  • Include setup time in the interval yourself; there is no automatic buffer.
  • Retain your working copy and contact support with the screen and action, omitting confidential customer details.

Check the fit before downloading

Requires FileMaker Pro, sold separately, for one operator and one working window on local macOS desktop. Allow at least a 1340 × 900 workspace at 100%, plus window controls. Pro 19.6+ is the intended range. Recorded native evidence is mainly Pro 26.0.3, with separately scoped 19.6.3 checks. Windows and intermediate versions are not individually validated; Go, WebDirect, hosting and multi-user use are not supported by this release.

Same-day local bookings only. No overnight or recurring bookings, online booking, payments, email automation, calendar synchronization or timezone conversion. There are no automatic setup buffers: include setup time in the booked interval.

Version 1.0.0 follows accepted source editions and caption-only promotion with structural and package checks; it is not a newly rerun native suite. Recorded tests are scoped, not a guarantee for every platform or failure condition.

Usage, support and moving between editions

Both editions are unlocked for personal and internal-business use and customization. No resale or redistribution. Support is best effort, with no guaranteed response time or future updates. FileMaker Pro, hosting, implementation, training and migration are separate.

Premium Citrine Harbor is US$99 once. It supplies the same booking workflow with pine navigation, icons, rounded panels, a highlighted Today card and coordinated colors. It does not include the separate reusable Citrine Harbor theme license.

Standard and Premium are separate empty files. Buying Premium does not automatically move Standard records or customizations. Keep your working file and assess migration before switching.

Explore the overlap rule in a small example

Check booking overlaps and allow back-to-back bookings in FileMaker. This separate, free teaching file illustrates same-room intervals and a preview that becomes stale before confirmation. It is not an update to Booking Desk.
