Compare FileMaker calculations & script text
See what changed between two versions. Compare locally, review additions and removals, and copy a readable report.
Your work stays in this browser tab. No account, upload or saved inputs.
What changed?
Paste calculation or script text. Exact comparison is the default; spaces and letter case matter. This tool does not read .fmp12 files or evaluate FileMaker code.
Limit: 200,000 characters combined, 2,000 lines per side and 2 million line pairs. Long scripts may need to be compared in smaller sections.
Review the differences.
− Removed · + Added · = Unchanged. Numbers show old / new line. Adjacent single-line replacements highlight the changed character range. ⇥ shows a tab; ␍ shows a carriage return.
A focused review, before you test.
- Paste the original and revised text. Use the same text-export method for both versions.
- Compare exact text first. Normalize line endings only when you want to ignore platform line-ending differences.
- Review additions and removals, including changed values inside strings. A moved block can appear as a removal and an addition.
- Test the actual calculation or script in a FileMaker working copy. Identical text does not prove identical behavior across layouts, privileges or data.
Reports preserve the compared text, including anything sensitive that you pasted. Review them before sharing. Copying script text does not create native FileMaker script steps.
Filesoft counts page loads and selected button clicks in aggregate. Input text, seeds, generated data and comparison results are never included. Browser privacy signals and the site’s analytics-off preference disable these counts.
