Download a standard .svg file prepared for FileMaker’s supported subset.

Made for button icons.

Prepare simple, solid-color SVGs for FileMaker buttons and button bars. Outline strokes become filled paths and cutouts use nonzero winding.

Based on Claris’s SVG grammar. Browser previews are not native FileMaker tests. Check the result in your FileMaker version and on each target platform.

Bring it into FileMaker.

  1. Download the prepared SVG.
  2. In Layout mode, open Button Setup or Button Bar Setup and add the custom icon.
  3. For a recolorable icon, set its color in the Inspector and check each button state.

Know what converts.

Paths, basic shapes, groups, transforms, solid fills and solid strokes are supported. Curves are approximated at fine precision.

Text, gradients, masks, clipping, effects, transparency, dashed strokes, bevel joins and linked symbols need to be expanded or flattened first. The converter explains when an input needs preparation.
