From API to FileMaker.

Describe your request. Leave the quoting to us.

Build URL and cURL-options calculations for Insert from URL, with a guide to putting them together in FileMaker.

YOUR REQUEST WORKSPACE

Connect the pieces.

HTTP & HTTPS

Start with a URL or load an example. Nothing is sent to the API.

01

Request

Use an absolute URL. Existing % escapes and query text stay unchanged. Add unencoded query names and values below; we encode those once.

Query parameters

02

Headers

Content-Type is added for the selected body unless you specify it here. Enabled duplicate headers stay in order.

03

Authentication

Use variable names to keep real credentials in your FileMaker solution.

04

Body

Advanced options & response

Enable only for trusted destinations; custom headers may travel with redirected requests.

The guide enables SSL verification, replaces the response and captures FileMaker errors immediately after the request.

READY FOR YOUR CALCULATION EDITOR

Your FileMaker output.

Three pieces, each with a clear destination.

Build once. Copy with confidence.Choose Generate calculations to prepare the URL, cURL options and setup guide.

Limits: 50 rows per section, 65,000 characters per value and 150,000 characters for the request model. Editing settings clears old output.

FROM REQUEST TO SCRIPT

A clearer path to your API.

  1. Describe the request

Choose the method and URL, then add query parameters, headers, authentication and a body. Values can be literal text or a simple FileMaker variable.

  2. Generate & review

Copy the URL and cURL-options calculations, and follow the setup guide to prepare body and authentication variables. Generated options return empty text if guarded header/authentication variables are unsafe or missing.

  3. Run in your solution

Recreate the steps in FileMaker and test against a controlled API endpoint. Check the response body, headers and captured errors together.

Built for HTTP APIs.

GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE and HEAD; Bearer, Basic and API-key-header authentication; JSON, text and URL-encoded bodies; timeouts and optional redirects. Repeated query/form names and ordinary headers are preserved.

This release generates a supported subset of FileMaker cURL options. It does not import terminal commands, perform OAuth sign-in, upload files, send API requests or validate an API’s schema.

Check it in FileMaker.

The browser checks request structure, literal JSON, variable names and conflicts. It cannot verify credentials, server behavior or the values of your FileMaker variables.

Generation follows the current Claris documentation. Native behavior and compatibility across FileMaker versions and Pro, Go, WebDirect or Server environments require testing. No native runtime validation is claimed.

References: supported cURL options, Insert from URL and URL encoding.

Your request stays with you.

All generation happens in this tab. URLs, credentials, headers, request bodies and generated output are never uploaded or saved as request history. Clear removes the form and output; reloading starts fresh. Clipboard copies and downloaded text files remain under your control.

We count page loads using the page address and a broad referral category, with separate approximate country and device totals. These are aggregate counts, not unique visitors or purchases. Browser privacy signals and the analytics-off preference disable visit counting. The preference is saved locally; request contents are not.
