Check your CSV.
Before the import.
Catch uneven columns, duplicate IDs and values that need a closer look before they reach your FileMaker file.

01 / Your source
Bring your CSV.
Choose a file or paste its contents. Every value stays as text.
CSV, TSV or text · UTF-8 · up to 5 MiB
Ready. Choose a file, paste CSV or try the sample.
Up to 5 MiB of UTF-8 text, 50,000 data records, 100 columns and 1,000,000 cells. Quoted delimiters, doubled quotes and quoted line breaks are supported. No automatic repairs.
02 / Review the findings
A clearer view of your data.
Counts are findings, not unique records. “To fix” includes missing headings, uneven columns and selected ID failures. “To review” identifies possible risks; a code that looks like a date may be valid text.
Only the first 1,000 findings are retained. Totals cover the entire input. Fix the source and check again to reveal later findings.
Preview the records.

Column overview
Empty counts cover present cells that are empty or whitespace-only. Missing cells appear as column-count findings.

The downloaded report includes value excerpts from your CSV. Clear removes this tab’s input and results; downloaded files remain on your device.
03 / Take it into FileMaker
Check the source. Then the import.
- Run a first check and confirm the delimiter, headings and preview.
- Select an ID column if it should be unique. Choose a date order when you know the source format, then check again.
- Correct the original source and recheck. Keep postal codes and identifiers as Text when their exact characters matter.
- Test the import in a separate copy of your FileMaker file. Review the destination fields, matching fields, auto-enter options and import summary.

Know what is being checked.
This tool checks one delimited text file. It does not connect to your database, compare IDs with existing records, validate relationships or inspect FileMaker field rules, privileges or import mappings.
ID duplicates use exact, case-sensitive text; a separate review flags similarities after trimming outer whitespace and ignoring case. These checks do not reproduce FileMaker’s matching behavior.
Date checks cover numeric calendar dates, not timestamps, month names, Excel serial dates or every date format. A clear report does not guarantee a successful import.

Your data stays with you.
CSV contents, filenames and findings are processed in this tab and are not uploaded, saved in browser storage or sent to remote error reporting. Reloading starts fresh. The report download is created on your device.
Filesoft counts page loads and broad referral sources in aggregate, not unique visitors or attributed purchases. These counts contain no CSV data or filenames. Browser privacy signals and the site’s analytics-off preference disable counting. The preference may be saved locally; your CSV is not.
