CHOOSE WITH CONFIDENCE

How to choose a FileMaker theme.

Start with the work your app needs to support. Then choose a palette and set of styles that make that work clear.

1. Look beyond the dashboard.

A striking dashboard is useful, but people also spend time entering records, reading lists and working with buttons. Look at field labels, selected rows, secondary actions and dense screens. Try realistic text lengths and your own data before applying a theme throughout an app.

2. Compare two or three palettes.

On the Filesoft theme collection, select two or three themes and open the side-by-side comparison. Compare the same layout in each theme so the palette is the main difference. Suggested-use categories are visual suggestions; a palette suggested for finance does not include accounting functionality.

For a curated starting point, compare Spring Garden, Copper Dune and Twilight Atelier. These are creator’s picks, not a sales ranking.

3. Check what you receive.

Full Filesoft themes include reusable named styles, six demo layouts, a FileMaker demo carrier, theme resources, preview images and a Read Me. Check the product page for its current version and exact style count. The demo layouts show the design; they are not finished business applications.

Styles and functionality are different.

Importing a theme transfers styling. It does not create your tables, records, scripts or field bindings. Plan the behavior and data structure of your own app separately.

4. Check your target platform.

The Filesoft theme collection is owner-tested in FileMaker Pro 18–26, with testing on FileMaker Go and WebDirect. Review each product’s platform notes and test your own layouts on the devices you use. This theme compatibility statement does not apply to every Filesoft add-on or solution.

Native Dashboard, Projects and Tasks screenshots help you inspect the actual design. Framed desktop, browser and phone previews are illustrative mockups; they are not proof that your own layout will fit every screen.

5. Try the workflow before buying.

Spring Garden Lite is a free, direct download with 24 selected styles and two desktop layouts. Use it to try importing and applying styles in a copy of your app. It demonstrates Spring Garden’s approach, not every palette in the collection.

Individual full themes currently cost US$49 at launch, with US$79 planned as the regular price. A bundle of any three is US$99. Check the collection for current offers. FileMaker Pro is required and is not included.
