Your first session

Extract to a writable folder and open Filesoft Time Ledger_1.0.0.fmp12. Create a project, give it a name and Save. Add a time entry, choose the project, enter a work date, whole-minute duration and activity, then Save. No plug-ins or separate theme installation are required.

Workflow

Projects use Active, Paused and Completed to organize work. All statuses allow historical time entry. Durations are 1–1440 whole minutes per entry; dates must be today or earlier. Notes are optional. Save before navigating or selecting another record; Cancel discards unsaved edits. Choosing a project preserves the entry draft. Search includes Clear. Date/project filters can be cleared. Weeks start on Monday; displayed hours round to two decimals. Entries can be corrected or deleted after confirmation. Projects containing entries cannot be deleted. Mark finished projects Completed to retain history. No automatic timer, invoicing or scheduled notifications are included.

Samples and backups

The file starts without business records. Normal startup creates preferences. Use Real · view samples for optional fictional projects and entries. Samples are separate, initialize once and retain edits. Dates are relative to first loading. New projects and time entries always belong to real work. There are no artificial record-count limits or expiry. Back up the saved, closed file. Preserve your populated file when downloading updates: a fresh download does not migrate your records. Contact Filesoft before moving existing data to another version.

Common questions

Use a date of today or earlier and a whole-minute duration from 1 to 1440. Save before navigating. Projects with entries cannot be deleted; mark them Completed to retain their history.

Requirements and scope

Requires Claris FileMaker Pro, sold separately. Intended for FileMaker Pro 19.6.3–26 (reviewed on macOS; Windows unverified), single-user desktop use with one active window. Both products were tested by Filesoft in FileMaker 19 and 26; exact patch versions were not restated. Intermediate versions were not individually tested. Windows, FileMaker Go, WebDirect, hosting, concurrent multi-user and multi-window operation are not validated.

Backups and updates

Save and close the database before making a filesystem backup. Keep earlier versions and a separate practice copy.

A fresh download does not transfer your saved records. Keep your populated working file and contact Filesoft before moving to another version.
