WRITTEN INSTALLATION GUIDE

Bring Contact Journal into your file.

Back up your host file; first test in a fresh disposable file.
Unzip the download and open Filesoft Contact Journal_0.1.0.fmaddon to register the chooser entry.
In Layout mode, choose Objects → Add-ons → Install Add-on, then select Filesoft Contact Journal 0.1.0.
Drag the launcher onto your host layout, save, and return to Browse mode.
Save or cancel host edits, then click Open Contact Journal.
Use Back to host to return to the launching host layout.

Use one module and one active window. All launchers in a file share one collection. Do not install into a file already containing FSCJ components, including the standalone solution.

Save editor changes before navigating or returning to the host: ordinary navigation discards unsaved editor buffers. Back to host commits module context; host triggers may run. Development access is required for installation; normal use respects host privileges.

Preserve FSCJ schema, script and layout names. Replacing chooser resources does not update installed copies. Never uninstall a populated module to upgrade it. Keep backups and follow the included Read Me.

Installation follows the same steps shown here. Choose Filesoft Contact Journal instead of Checklist Lite.

Filesoft Checklist Lite — Installation Tutorial

Let’s install Filesoft Checklist Lite in your FileMaker file. Start with a backup of your app.

Open the .fmaddon package in FileMaker Pro. This makes Checklist Lite available in the add-on chooser.

In your file, enter Layout mode and open the Add-ons tab. Click Install Add-on, select Filesoft Checklist Lite, and choose it.

Drag Checklist Lite from the Add-ons pane onto your layout. Position the launcher where it is easy to find.

Save the layout and return to Browse mode. Click Open Checklist Lite. No host-table relationship or startup-script change is needed.

Open Templates and choose a starting point. Click Use template to create an independent checklist that you can make your own.

Complete a step to update your progress. Your checklist keeps the step details and completion information together.

Click Back to host to return to your original layout. The launcher is there whenever you need your checklists.

Requires Claris FileMaker Pro, sold separately. Intended for FileMaker Pro 19.6.3–26 on macOS, single-user desktop use with one active window. The owner tested the add-on in FileMaker 19 and 26; exact patch versions were not specified. Intermediate versions were not individually tested. Native export: 19.6.3. Windows, FileMaker Go, WebDirect, hosting and concurrent multi-user or multi-window use are not validated.
