Preserve SourceID leading zeros. Confirm three records.
Back up this local practice file before updates.
Review raw incoming data. Blank phone means unknown; retain verified value.
Exclude unmatched 004. Use APPROVED updates file for the actual exercise.
Show All Records. Update matching records; SourceID = match field.
Import Phone and City only; do not alter FullName.
Do NOT add unmatched records. Review the summary and any errors.
Show All Records: still 3. 001 phone 555-0191 city East Harbor;
002 phone 555-0102 city South Bay; 003 unchanged.
Repeat approved update: still 3 and same values.
Real imports need rules for validation, auto-entry, duplicates, privileges,
destination changes since preparation and relationships.
Keep source, approved file, mapping and before/after evidence.
