Filesoft Navigation Sidebar — Installation Tutorial Let’s install Filesoft Navigation Sidebar in an existing FileMaker app. Start with a backup of your file. Unzip your package, then open the dot F M add-on file to make it available in FileMaker. Open your file in Layout mode. In the Add-ons tab, click Install Add-on. Select Filesoft Navigation Sidebar, then choose it. Make room on the left of your layout. Move your existing content to the right, and adjust the layout size as needed. Drag the sidebar from the Add-ons panel onto your layout, then position it beside your content. Open Manage Database, then Relationships. Connect your layout’s table occurrence to FSNAV_Rows. In this example, the layout uses Tasks. Edit the relationship. Here, Tasks Primary Key connects to FSNAV_Rows ID. Change the operator to X, click Change, then OK. Leave record creation and deletion unchecked. Close Manage Database and return to Browse mode. The sample navigation is now visible on your layout. Open Customize navigation and select Tasks. Enter the exact destination layout name. Here, it is Task Details. Then save your changes. Click Tasks to open your existing layout. Move to Projects and back to check the navigation. Repeat the setup for other layout table occurrences as needed. Customize your sections, labels, and icons. Your package includes a reference demo and setup guide. Find more at filesofttools.com.
